China: Fatal damage to the environment. Caption: Bathtub of Doom. In the lowlands, which is bounded by the line of Beijing-Wuhan-Shanghai, serious environmental damage can be reported. People suffering from poison polluted waters, polluted air, pesticide contaminated soil. The rapid industrialization of the past decades has left terrible scars. Countless illegal waste dumps everywhere, regularly smog in cities, poison dripping seafood which even flies don't like to touch. One begins to map out "cancer villages", where people are conspicuously often ill with ulcers. The Chinese dragon, under the surface already skeletonized, complains about environmental researchers: "Kindly do not disturb my privacy!" (2007).
