SPD. Capitalism. Locusts. The German Social Democrats of SPD party. Rants in the front on capitalism and "locusts" who buy up everything in order to sell it again with greed for profit and laying off a plentiful of employees. And rolling out the red carpet at the back door for those locusts by liberalizing the laws on the banking market ("securitization", "Asset Backed Securities", stimulating purchase of "subprime" bonds), in doing so laying the foundation for the financial crisis in Germany. In this caricature the creator of the locusts concept, the SPD chairman Franz Muentefering, to his discomfort is being greeted by international financial investors on the street: "Was nice to do business with you!" What words in this situation would fit better for putting in his mouth than Heinrich Heine's lines ". My dear child - don't disgrace me / and don't greet me in the Linden Ave. / when we later meet at home / everything will itself resolve." (2005).
