Prominent persons advertising for euro currency. 2001: The German Federal Government, Finance Minister Hans Eichel shown here, pours a lot of propaganda about upcoming introduction of the euro into the minds of German tax- and feepayer. Positive feelings are aspired by showing the currency gospel associated with faces known mostly from TV . The most obvious question, to understand what these people from acting, show business and news reading really do know of currency and monetary policy context, what qualifies them for the delivery of public recommendations on this matter, is scarcely being made public. The celebrities collect their fee for posing in front of camera, the policy relies on the desired effect in the hearts of voters and the Euro-disaster takes its course. Politicians forehandedly and arguably prudently waived evaluating the success of that sympathy campaign, which could have taken place perhaps in the form of a democratic vote by asking whether the euro is now desired for the majority. In speech bubble: "Just a moment - what do these guys know about money policy?" Caption: ignorant query.
